Our client, is a cutting-edge media company at the forefront of AI-driven strategy and content innovation, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Director to join their leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-forward environment and is eager to shape the financial future of a growing organization.
This role will serve as the firm's key finance leader, overseeing FP&A and financial strategy while also managing core controller responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in billing operations, payroll management, and U.S. tax compliance, and will be comfortable leading a small team while working cross-functionally across the business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the firm's financial strategy in alignment with business goals
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Partner with business units to evaluate initiatives and optimize resource allocation
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies
  • Oversee billing operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction
  • Supervise payroll processing and ensure compliance with employment tax regulations
  • Manage state, local, and federal tax compliance, including filings and audits
  • Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
  • Own and optimize ERP systems (Workday), driving automation and efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance financial systems and reporting capabilities
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
  • Proven experience with Workday or similar ERP systems
  • Background in media, technology, or AI-driven businesses is highly desirable
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
