Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Catastrophe Modeling Analyst with a passion for analyzing and mitigating the impacts of natural catastrophes. In this role, you will primarily focus on commercial property risks, utilizing your expertise to support our underwriting and risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed catastrophe modeling analyses for natural disasters, including hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and other perils.
- Utilize AIR software to assess and quantify potential losses and exposures.
- Collaborate with underwriters, actuaries, and other stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations based on modeling results.
- Develop and maintain catastrophe models and databases.
- Prepare and present reports on catastrophe risk assessments and findings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and advancements in catastrophe modeling techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Environmental Science).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in catastrophe modeling or a related field.
- Proficiency in AIR and SQL software is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
