Audit Methodologies & Reporting Manager

The Audit Methodologies & Reporting Specialist plays a pivotal role in strengthening the internal audit framework and ensuring regulatory compliance across the firm's AIFs and UCITS portfolios. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining audit methodologies, supporting internal audit execution, and overseeing regulatory reporting in alignment with EU and Italian financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and refines audit methodologies tailored to the specific requirements of AIFs and UCITS.
  • Ensures alignment with AIFMD, UCITS directives, and ESMA guidelines.
  • Integrates data analytics and automation tools to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Supports the planning and execution of risk-based internal audits.
  • Collaborates with fund management, compliance, and operations teams to assess internal controls.
  • Tracks and reports on the implementation of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Manages the preparation and timely submission of regulatory reports, including Annex IV (AIFMD) and UCITS KIIDs.
  • Ensures compliance with disclosure requirements from CONSOB, the Bank of Italy, and ESMA.
  • Acts as a liaison during regulatory inspections and external audits.
  • Contributes to the development of the annual audit plan based on risk assessments.
  • Maintains audit documentation in accordance with internal policies and IIA standards.
  • Provides training and guidance on audit and reporting standards to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management within asset management or financial services.
  • In-depth knowledge of AIFMD, UCITS, and related EU regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with audit tools, data analytics platforms, and GRC systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or ACCA are advantageous.
  • Fluency in both English and Italian is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented approach to process improvement.
