Company Overview:

A well‑established, privately held organization with a growing operating footprint is continuing to expand its finance and accounting leadership team. The company manages a complex portfolio of assets and investments and operates in a dynamic, transaction‑driven environment. As the platform scales, the organization is seeking an experienced accounting leader to help strengthen financial operations, controls, and reporting.

Position Overview:

The VP of Accounting will be a key partner to senior leadership, responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys building scalable processes, managing teams, and operating in a fast‑paced environment with multiple workstreams. You will lead day‑to‑day accounting activities while helping evolve the function to support growth, complexity, and long‑term strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, close processes, and financial reporting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and controls
  • Manage and develop a growing accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with senior leadership on financial insights, reporting, and decision support
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and third‑party service providers
  • Drive process improvements, system optimization, and documentation efforts across the accounting function

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Background in complex, multi‑entity environments is highly valued
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting best practices
  • Experience building or scaling accounting processes and teams
  • Hands‑on, detail‑oriented leader who can operate at both strategic and execution levels
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally
