Position Overview
The Senior Investment Analyst / Associate will play a pivotal role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities within the life sciences sector. This position is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills, a passion for healthcare innovation, and prior experience in private equity, venture capital, or investment banking. The role offers exposure to the full investment lifecycle and collaboration with senior investment professionals and operating partners.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Research
- Proactively identify and evaluate emerging companies, technologies, and market trends in life sciences.
- Lead secondary market, competitive, and therapeutic area research to support investment theses.
Due Diligence & Execution
- Drive financial, operational, and scientific diligence for potential investments.
- Prepare and present detailed investment memoranda and recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
Financial Analysis
- Build and refine complex financial models to assess investment opportunities and portfolio performance.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate risk-adjusted returns.
Portfolio Support
- Partner with senior team members and operating partners to monitor portfolio company performance.
- Identify and implement value-creation initiatives, including growth strategies and operational improvements.
Internal Initiatives
- Contribute to fund operations, reporting, and strategic projects that enhance firm capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, life sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required).
- 2-4 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting with exposure to healthcare or life sciences.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling investment narratives.
- Demonstrated interest in life sciences and healthcare innovation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
