Software Engineering Manager

Selby Jennings has partnered with a top Investment Firm in Boston to scale up their tech teacm with a new Software Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be deeply experienced in application architecture and development, have strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills, and have programming and debugging experience in an enterprise environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of professional experience developing software applications using Python
  • Experience with front-end development using React or Redux
  • Significant experience deploying applications in Kupernetes environments
  • AWS native services including RDS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Docker, and Terraform
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders, communicate project status, and interpret detailed business requirements
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and instruments
  • Experience in front-office software development
  • Proactive and adaptable mindset; willing to take on tasks of any size and deliver results
  • Creative problem-solver with sound judgment and initiative
  • Dependable and collaborative team member
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Designing and implementing high-quality, web-based user interfaces
  • Applying data engineering best practices, including data modeling and Airflow
  • Working knowledge of C# or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies
