Senior Reinsurance Accountant
Requirements:
- Analyze and process reinsurance technical accounts, including:
- Quarterly statements
- Profit commission calculations
- Sliding scale commissions
- Premium adjustments
- Reconcile technical accounts and resolve discrepancies by reviewing underwriting contract wordings.
- Prepare and review journal entries for reinsurance transactions.
- Collaborate with Claims and Underwriting teams to report paid losses and reserves.
- Assist with GAAP and Statutory reporting
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with SOX guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4 years in reinsurance accounting
- Strong background in P&C insurance industry.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Statutory accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems (Workday or similar) preferred.
- CPA designation is a plus but not required.
