A leading global real estate investment and financial services firm is seeking a Senior Real Estate Accountant to join their Amsterdam-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Dutch SPVs and contribute to high-quality financial reporting for international clients.
Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of Dutch Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Review financial data prepared by Property Accountants
Verify journal entries and accounting classifications
Manage day-to-day accounting for Dutch SPVs, including month-end entries and GL reconciliations
Coordinate payment processes
Prepare and review key balance sheet reconciliations
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support statutory reporting and SOC 1 financial controls
Assist with VAT processes and liquidity forecasting
Participate in internal and external audits
Contribute to cross-functional project groups
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of relevant accounting experience
Familiarity with Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and real estate/propco accounting is a strong plus
Experience preparing financial statements
Strong analytical skills and a critical, detail-oriented mindset
Proactive, independent, and solution-focused team player
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent in English; Dutch is preferred
Experience with Yardi is an advantage
