Real Estate Portfolio Management Analyst
Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading real estate investment management platform seeking a Portfolio Management Analyst to join its Austin-based team. This position offers exposure to institutional investment management, portfolio strategy, capital planning, financial modeling, and investor reporting within a fast-paced investment environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and investment professionals to support portfolio optimization, valuation analysis, capital markets initiatives, and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain complex financial models and underwriting analyses
- Develop cash flow projections, fund-level waterfalls, IRR analyses, DCF valuations, and NPV calculations
- Support portfolio management, capital planning, and investment strategy initiatives
- Prepare presentations and analytical materials for investors, executive leadership, and board-level stakeholders
- Assist with investor reporting and responses to due diligence requests
- Analyze portfolio performance and provide recommendations related to capital structure, financing strategies, and growth opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with investment, finance, and operations teams on strategic projects
- Support ad hoc investment analyses and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, CA, or related advanced credentials are a plus
- 1-3 years of experience within banking, consulting, financial services, investment management, or real estate
- Strong analytical and quantitative skill set
- Advanced Excel modeling skills required
- Experience with financial modeling, valuation, underwriting, and investment analysis
- Exposure to SQL, Yardi, Tableau, or similar analytical platforms is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
