Quantitative Python Engineer - Leading Trading Firm | Paris

Our client is seeking a Quantitative Python Engineer to join one of their highestperforming teams at their leading global trading firm in Paris. This is a businesscritical role focused on building, optimising, and maintaining tools that empower worldclass researchers to deliver cuttingedge strategies.

This position sits at the intersection of technology, quantitative research, and highperformance engineering, making it ideal for someone with strong software fundamentals and a genuine interest in quantitative problemsolving.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, test, and maintain pricing, risk, and research-supporting models and infrastructure
  • Write clean, highperformance Python (and some C++) for latencysensitive and missioncritical systems
  • Improve development pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring tools
  • Contribute to highquality engineering practices: code reviews, design discussions, CI/CD
  • Work across a broad range of financial instruments and datasets
  • Translate research needs into robust, scalable technical solutions
  • Work closely with quant researchers, requiring strong quantitative thinking and communication

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Python experience, ideally in fast-paced, technically rigorous environments
  • Strong experience from either finance, top-tier tech or engineering-driven companies.
  • Experience covering the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Numerical/statistical libraries: NumPy, Pandas, Polars
    • Software engineering best practices - testing, CI/CD, Git workflows
  • Maths or partially quantitative degrees are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with C++ is greatly appreciated.
  • Awareness of pricing libraries such as QuantLib, Strata, or similar
  • High energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning about financial products and quant research workflows
