Quant/Data Engineer - Systematic Trading Pod (NYC)
A leading multi‑strategy investment firm is seeking a Quant/Data Engineer to join a lean, research‑driven trading pod. This front‑office role works directly with the portfolio manager and researchers to build the data foundation powering both research and live trading.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain pipelines for market, alternative, and fundamental data
- Integrate exchange and vendor feeds across equities, futures, and FX
- Develop batch + streaming ingestion systems
- Implement data quality checks (schema, anomaly detection, completeness/timeliness)
- Manage research‑ready datasets, backfills, and reproducibility workflows
- Work across cloud warehouses and lakehouse systems (Snowflake, Redshift, S3/Iceberg)
- Own orchestration and monitoring (Airflow/Prefect, SLAs, incident response)
Ideal Background
- Strong Python + SQL
- Experience with large‑scale financial datasets or time‑series data
- Familiarity with cloud‑based data engineering and distributed compute
- Prior exposure to quant, systematic trading, or market data engineering is preferred
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work closely with a portfolio manager in a fast‑paced environment
