About the Role

We are partnering with a leading high-frequency trading firm seeking a Quant Trader to join its growing team in Amsterdam. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of quantitative research, trading, and technology, developing and deploying systematic strategies across global electronic markets.

You will work alongside experienced traders, quant researchers, and software engineers to identify market opportunities, generate alpha, and improve trading performance in a highly collaborative and data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and implement systematic trading strategies across liquid financial markets.
  • Analyze large-scale market data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and trading opportunities.
  • Monitor and optimize live trading performance, execution quality, and risk exposures.
  • Design and test quantitative models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve trading infrastructure, automation, and execution systems.
  • Evaluate portfolio construction, transaction costs, and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing strategies and the development of new sources of alpha.

Requirements

  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proven experience in quantitative trading, systematic trading, quantitative research, or market making.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or a similar language.
  • Deep understanding of probability, statistics, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with large datasets and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within a proprietary trading firm, market maker, hedge fund, or high-frequency trading environment.
  • Knowledge of market microstructure and electronic trading.
  • Experience trading futures, options, equities, fixed income, commodities, or FX products.
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in financial markets.
  • Understanding of low-latency systems and algorithmic execution.
