Our client is a privately owned investment firm that manages funds focusing on companies in both emerging and developed markets, especially across Asia, and they are looking for a Private Equity Associate to work directly with their PortCos in Korea.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Korean public companies in the portfolio and value up.
- Lead strategic transaction processes, including direct collaboration with senior executives, oversight of advisors and financing partners, diligence, valuation, and development of value‑creation plans.
- Support privately held businesses through talent recruitment, KPI design, and ongoing strategic guidance; opportunities to serve on boards may be available.
- Shape portfolio company M&A strategies, assist in key hiring decisions, and provide input on capital allocation and fund‑level considerations.
- Conduct fundamental analysis of both public and private companies to inform investment and engagement strategies.
Requirements
- Significant experience driving value creation in Korean companies, ideally through private equity or engagement investing; strong "value‑up" experience from other fields is also relevant.
- Background in corporate finance, strategy, M&A, consulting, law, investment banking, or accounting is a plus.
- Well‑developed professional network in Korea across investors, advisors, and corporate leadership.
- Fluency in Korean and English.
