Investment Banking Managing Director
Selby Jennings is partnered with a mid-market Investment Banking Boutique in high growth stage. This group has added ex-Elite Boutique and Bulge Brackets to the roster, and are looking to add Investment Banking Managing Directors to increase their coverage across white space.
Key Responsibilities
- Origination & Coverage
- Proactively source, originate, and execute sell‑side and buy‑side M&A assignments
- Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with CEOs, CFOs, boards, private equity sponsors, and other key decision‑makers
- Serve as a senior adviser on strategic alternatives, capital allocation, and shareholder value initiatives
- Transaction Execution
- Lead end‑to‑end execution of M&A transactions, including mandate development, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing
- Oversee preparation of marketing materials, financial analysis, and transaction documentation
- Manage deal teams to ensure high‑quality execution and timely delivery
- Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor and develop junior and mid‑level bankers across the platform
- Partner closely with product and coverage teams to drive cross‑sell opportunities
- Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the overall M&A franchise
Qualifications
- 12+ years of investment banking experience with a strong focus on M&A advisory
- Proven track record of deal origination and revenue generation
- Extensive experience leading complex transactions from pitch through close
- Strong network of corporate, sponsor, and professional relationships
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships independently
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred
