Role Overview:

The client is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Index Strategist to lead the design and construction of equity, fixed income, thematic, and style indices. This role will play a pivotal part in driving index innovation, supporting ETF and quantitative strategies, and partnering with product development teams to deliver cutting-edge passive investment solutions. The successful candidate will combine quantitative expertise with market insight, ensuring indices are competitive, relevant, and aligned with client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead construction of diverse indices including equity, fixed income, thematic, and style indices from both original concepts and client-driven requests.

  • Drive index innovation with index providers to contribute to the overall ETF and quantitative strategy of the firm.

  • Partner with the Product Development team on the development of passive investment products and delivery of product roadmaps.

  • Prepare index analyses and presentations including backtests and comparative performance analyses.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and industry trends.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including product development, investment, and sales-to ensure a viable go-to-market strategy.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in an analytical, quantitative discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of the ETF market and index innovations.

  • Deep expertise in quantitative investment portfolio techniques, including portfolio simulation, construction approaches, and risk/performance attribution.

  • Proven track record of developing products from idea conception to index creation.

  • Highly motivated with evidence of intellectual curiosity and creativity.

  • Excellent presentation and writing skills.

  • Fluency in English and Chinese.
