Finance Manager

Our client, a growing insurance organization, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Finance Manager to lead core financial operations and drive strategic insights. This role is critical in overseeing accounting functions, enhancing financial performance through robust analysis, and supporting executive decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, deep analytical skills, and a proven ability to lead teams and improve financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze monthly financial results, including revenue, expenses, and variances to budget.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and payables.
  • Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and trust account activity.
  • Lead the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Monitor key balance sheet accounts and ensure timely payment of obligations.
  • Develop and improve financial systems, tools, and reporting processes.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting and finance professionals.
  • Support senior leadership with financial research, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience, including US GAAP.
  • 6+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on financial insights and performance metrics.
  • Experience reviewing reconciliations and maintaining financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
