Chief Compliance Officer

We are partnering with a top Fintech company in Luxembourg, assisting with the search of a seasoned Chief Compliance Officer to lead the compliance function and serve as the RC under Luxembourg regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the RC (Responsable du Contrôle), ensuring the company's compliance with AML/CTF obligations under Luxembourg law.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the CSSF and other regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the AML/CTF framework, including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and manage regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise the business on necessary adjustments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and internal reviews.
  • Lead internal investigations and manage compliance incidents and breaches.
  • Provide regular reports to the Board and senior management on compliance performance and risks.
  • Lead and manage the compliance team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.
  • Deliver compliance training programs to staff at all levels.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Legal, Risk, Operations) to ensure integrated risk management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior compliance role within the FinTech, payments, or financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Luxembourg and EU financial regulations, especially AML/KYC, PSD2, GDPR, and CSSF Circulars.
  • Proven experience as RC or in a similar regulatory role is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) are a strong plus.
