Associate, Asset Backed Securitization (ABS)

Location: New York, Dallas, Chicago

Overview

The Associate will support the origination and execution of Asset Backed Securitization transactions across a wide range of asset classes including consumer, auto, equipment, marketplace lending, small business and other specialty finance sectors. This role is designed for someone who can take ownership of analytical workstreams, contribute meaningfully to client interactions, and collaborate across multiple internal teams to support high quality execution.


Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution and Analytics

  • Build and maintain cash flow models to support term ABS, warehouse facilities, and forward flow transactions
  • Prepare transaction materials including investor presentations, term sheets, data tapes, performance analyses, and marketing materials
  • Conduct collateral analysis using loan level data including stratifications, performance trend reviews, and stress scenarios
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing offering documents and other transaction deliverables
  • Support rating agency processes including loan data submissions, modeling requests, and structural discussions

Client and Internal Coordination

  • Join client meetings and calls to support senior team members with market updates, performance analyses, and structural discussions
  • Work closely with Syndicate, Sales and Trading, Legal, Risk, and other internal stakeholders throughout the execution process
  • Help support origination efforts by preparing pitchbooks, comparable transaction analyses, and market commentary

Market and Industry Research

  • Monitor ABS market conditions, pricing trends, comparable transactions and investor sentiment
  • Track regulatory updates and rating agency methodology changes relevant to consumer and specialty finance ABS
  • Prepare periodic market updates and internal insights for distribution across the team

Team Collaboration and Development

  • Mentor and guide Analysts on modeling approaches, transaction workflow, and analytical best practices
  • Contribute to team wide efforts to improve processes, enhance modeling frameworks, and refine internal tools

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or a quantitative discipline
  • Two to four years of experience in structured finance, securitization, capital markets, or adjacent credit focused roles
  • Strong financial modeling skills including cash flow modeling and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform detailed collateral and performance analysis
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deals and workstreams simultaneously in a fast paced environment
