ABS Research Analyst
Associate Research Analyst - Asset-Backed Securities (ABS)
A leading, multi-strategy asset manager is seeking an Associate Research Analyst to join its ABS investment team. In this role, you'll work closely with senior investors across the full research lifecycle-supporting underwriting, trade idea generation, and ongoing surveillance-while developing differentiated credit views across consumer and commercial asset-backed sectors. The position offers broad exposure to both traditional and esoteric ABS markets within a highly collaborative, flat investment environment that values independent thinking and intellectual curiosity.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth credit, collateral, and structural analysis across ABS sectors
- Support investment recommendations and identify relative value opportunities
- Perform ongoing surveillance of portfolio holdings and industry developments
- Build and maintain cashflow models and scenario analysis frameworks
- Develop and communicate differentiated views on evolving market dynamics
Ideal background:
- ~5+ years of experience in ABS credit research, structured products, or asset-backed finance
- Experience across consumer and/or commercial ABS (esoteric sectors a plus)
- Strong analytical and modeling skillset with high attention to detail
- Proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to navigate complex structures
- Clear communicator, able to synthesize and present complex ideas effectively
Preferred technical skills:
- Experience with Intex, YieldBook, DV01, and Bloomberg
- Exposure to SQL and/or Python for data analysis and modeling
