The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior Associate to join its investment team in either San Francisco or Nashville. This is an excellent opportunity for an investment professional seeking broad exposure across sourcing, due diligence, investment execution, portfolio support, and strategic initiatives.
Unlike many venture capital roles that focus primarily on sourcing, this position offers meaningful involvement throughout the investment process. The successful candidate will work directly with senior investment professionals and play a key role in evaluating and executing new investments.
The fund is open to candidates from investment banking, venture capital, growth equity, private equity, healthcare consulting, management consulting, corporate development, and other analytical investing-related backgrounds.
Responsibilities
Investment Analysis & Due Diligence
- Evaluate investment opportunities through financial, operational, commercial, and strategic analysis
- Conduct detailed market research and competitive assessments
- Analyze company performance metrics, customer data, growth trends, and operating KPIs
- Build financial models and support investment underwriting
- Develop investment committee materials and investment memoranda
- Participate in management presentations, customer calls, and diligence conversations
Sourcing & Relationship Development
- Research and identify potential investment opportunities
- Conduct outbound networking and relationship-building activities
- Support inbound opportunity evaluation and screening
- Build relationships with founders, operators, investors, and industry participants
- Represent the fund at conferences and industry events
- Develop healthcare market maps, investment themes, and industry research
Portfolio & Fund Support
- Assist portfolio companies through strategic research and ecosystem introductions
- Support fundraising, LP communications, and advisory board materials
- Track portfolio company performance and sector developments
- Contribute to internal process improvements and firm-building initiatives
AI & Technology Initiatives
- Utilize AI-driven workflows to improve research, diligence, and investment processes
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency through automation and emerging technologies
- Help establish best practices for AI-assisted investment analysis
Desired Background
- 4-6 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in investment banking, venture capital, growth equity, private equity, healthcare consulting, management consulting, corporate development, or a related field
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
- Demonstrated ability to conduct company and industry research
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Interest in healthcare innovation and investing
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a lean, collaborative environment
- Experience leveraging AI tools within a professional setting is highly desirable

Compensation
Target total compensation is expected to be approximately $220,000 to $240,000+, consisting of base salary and annual bonus, with additional long-term upside potential. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and background.
