The firm maintains a lean, highly specialized team of investment professionals and manages multiple funds across strategies including warrants, options, equities, special situations, and opportunistic SPAC-related securities.
Position Overview:
The firm is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Trader that will support the firm's investment platform. This individual will trade across public-market instruments - particularly equities, derivatives, warrants and other structured or event driven opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trades across equities, options, warrants, rights, and other specialty or event‑driven securities in support of fund strategy objectives.
- Monitor market conditions, liquidity, and corporate actions, particularly those relevant to warrants, options, and SPAC‑related instruments.
- Coordinate with portfolio managers on position sizing, exposure management, and timing of trade implementation.
- Manage intraday and overnight risk, ensuring activity is aligned with fund mandates and internal guidelines.
- Maintain rigorous trade records, collaborate with operations on settlement and reconciliation, and support compliance requirements.
- Identify execution improvements, trading efficiencies, and technology enhancements that benefit a small, nimble investment team.
- Provide timely insight on market structure developments, issuer‑level events, and pricing dynamics affecting the firm's focus areas.
Requirements:
- 5-10+ years of relevant trading experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, proprietary trading group, or similar environment.
- Deep familiarity with options, warrants, and equity market microstructure, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in event‑driven or special‑situation instruments.
- Ability to operate effectively in a small, high‑accountability team, often taking on broad responsibilities across execution, risk awareness, and collaboration with operations.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort interpreting issuer‑provided financial information used in evaluating securities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with portfolio managers in a dynamic, research‑centric environment.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced credentials or technical experience in trading systems, derivatives, or quantitative tools are a plus.
