Client/Job Summary:
Our client is a top prop-trading firm looking for a senior trade accountant to support their accounting and trading teams on accounting operations. This role involves working closely with their trading, data, and clearing teams to analyze trading data and perform accounting operations related to trading positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-end close for trading entities including variance analyses, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Record daily transactions related to trading.
- Assist with external audits.
- Balance sheet accuracy.
- Monthly Profit & Loss reporting.
- Process improvement and automation.
Key Qualifications:
- 4+ YOE in accounting at a trading firm or clearing corporation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA (or equivalent) preferred
- Experience working with brokers and preparing broker reports (exposure to broker data/broker feeds)
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup) and SQL (building queries)
- Experience with NetSuite or similar systems
- Deep knowledge in at least one: equities, futures, options, FX, treasuries
