Senior Quantitative Researcher
Who We Are
Our client is a Web3 proprietary trading and venture fund with significant assets under management. They combine quantitative strategies with fundamental research, focusing on systematic, medium‑frequency trading and selective venture investments across liquid crypto markets.
The firm operates with a lean, high‑ownership structure and a strong buy‑side culture. Team members work close to risk, with direct accountability for research quality, execution, and PnL outcomes in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
We Are Seeking: Senior On‑Chain Researcher / Trader
This role is focused on transforming blockchain and market data into systematic, executable trading signals that generate real PnL. The emphasis is signal‑driven trading, not protocol research, yield strategies, or narrative‑based investing.
You will own the full research‑to‑production lifecycle - from data extraction and modelling to live deployment and performance iteration. This is a senior, buy‑side role suited for candidates with proven trading or research track records and direct PnL responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert on‑chain and market data into scalable, systematic trading signals
- Build, test, deploy, and iterate models used in live trading environments
- Own end‑to‑end research pipelines with measurable PnL impact
- Collaborate closely with trading counterparts on execution and portfolio construction
- Continuously refine signals based on realised performance and market regime shifts
Must‑Haves
- Buy‑side trading or research experience at a top‑tier hedge fund, quant fund, or proprietary trading firm
- Demonstrated PnL ownership, ideally including:
- ~$20mm+ book responsibility
- ~20%+ annualised returns (or equivalent contribution)
- Proven experience deploying signals into live trading with realised PnL impact
- Strategy background aligned with systematic alpha generation (stat‑arb, predictive modelling, scalable signals)
- Strong on‑chain analytics capability: extracting, structuring, and modelling blockchain data at scale
- Programming proficiency suitable for production research workflows (e.g., Python, Go)
- Comfortable owning the full research → deployment → iteration process with limited infrastructure support
Candidates from strong buy‑side platforms not listed may be considered if performance and responsibility are comparable.
Why Join Us
- Senior, high‑ownership role with direct influence on trading outcomes
- Opportunity to operate close to risk in a lean, systematic trading team
- Focus on repeatable, data‑driven alpha rather than theoretical research
- Exposure to both crypto markets and institutional trading standards
- Remote work supported for the right senior candidate
