This is a senior, hands-on trading role offering genuine responsibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape strategy within a professional, collaborative trading environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving performance across core European power markets.
The Role
Independently manage trading activities with a primary focus on electricity markets, with the option to trade CO₂ allowances and natural gas
Identify market trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities to develop and execute profitable trading strategies
Actively manage positions and risk exposure in line with defined frameworks and limits
Monitor regulatory, geopolitical, and structural developments impacting European power markets
Work closely with risk management, market analysts, and business support teams to optimise portfolio performance
Contribute to the ongoing development of trading strategy, processes, and analytical tools
Key Skills & Expertise
Power Trading Experience:
Proven experience in electricity trading, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and products.Market Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of Eastern or Western European markets including fundamentals, trading strategies, and risk management.Strategy & Risk Management:
A demonstrable track record of developing and executing successful trading strategies, operating confidently within defined risk parameters.Analytical Capability:
Strong analytical mindset with experience in statistical data analysis and the ability to convert insights into actionable trading decisions.Collaboration & Communication:
Thrives in a team-based environment, working effectively across functions. Clear communication skills and fluency in English are essential.
