Senior C# Engineer - Accounting Technology
Our client needs a senior, hands‑on C# engineer (7+ years) to take ownership of critical post‑trade / back‑office accounting systems in a high‑volume, distributed environment.
The successful contractor will be very strong in modern .NET (C#, .NET Core), multithreading, and event‑driven architectures, with experience building enterprise-grade, service‑oriented systems. Exposure to financial markets and the post‑trade lifecycle is important, as the systems sit at the heart of trade reporting and accounting.
Technically, they are looking for engineers comfortable with Kafka/Solace, SQL/Postgres/Snowflake, Redis, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred), ideally with serverless and DevOps exposure. This is a fast‑paced, ownership-heavy role balancing second‑line support with ongoing development, working closely with global teams across the UK, US, and Hong Kong.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in a formal enterprise-level development environment, particularly with C#.
- Technical Skills:
o Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, multi-threaded programming, and object-oriented design.
o Proven experience in building connected, service-oriented applications.
o Familiarity with enterprise messaging systems(Kafka/Solace).
o Experience with Database Systems (Microsoft SQL/Postgres/ Snowflake)
o Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc)
o Experience with distributed caching like Redis.
o Experience with Event Driven architecture.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to various audiences.
- DevOps Knowledge: Experience with JIRA, Git, Jenkins, and Octopus Deploy.
