Senior Analyst - Greater China Consumer
Selby Jennings has partnered with a 4bn USD Asia-based multi-strat hedge fund in seeking a Greater China Consumer specialist to join their team in Hong Kong. Responsibilities in this role include leading the coverage on the Consumer sector across A-shares, H-shares, and ADRs, and generate market insights through a strong fundamental research framework, incorporating both bottom-up dilligence and top-down thematice awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of the Consumer sector, including industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior.
- Monitor and evaluate macroeconomic factors affecting consumer sectors.
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast company performance and market trends.
- Provide actionable insights and investment recommendations (including timing and sizing of trades)
- Stay updated on industry news, regulatory changes, and emerging trends.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of equity research and investment experience covering the Greater China consumer sector in secondary markets.
- Strong understanding of A-share thematic investing, sector rotation dynamics, and local market structure.
- Proven experience managing or contributing meaningfully to long/short consumer portfolios is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a rigorous research and monitoring process grounded in fundamentals.
- Deep knowledge of China consumer trends and strong awareness of global consumer/adjacent sectors are preferred.
