Sales Trader
Key Responsibilities
Client Development & Relationship Management
- Proactively expand and manage a portfolio of high‑value trading clients, driving trading activity and long‑term retention
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through referrals, networking, events, and targeted outreach
- Deliver a personalised client experience by understanding trading behaviour, product needs, and risk profiles
- Maintain regular, value‑adding communication with clients to enhance engagement and loyalty
Trading Support & Market Engagement
- Provide execution assistance and trading support across multiple asset classes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Share timely market insights, product updates, and platform guidance to support informed trading decisions
- Act as a product and platform ambassador, delivering demonstrations and education where required
- Collaborate with internal trading and operations teams to ensure smooth execution and optimal client experience
Business Growth & Collaboration
- Contribute to overall desk performance by supporting revenue targets and growth initiatives
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to refine client acquisition and engagement strategies
- Represent the business at client events, seminars, and hospitality initiatives when required
- Maintain strong awareness of market trends, competitor positioning, and client feedback to inform strategy
Compliance & Professional Conduct
- Ensure all client interactions adhere to local regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
- Maintain accurate client records and uphold confidentiality and data protection obligations
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to remain current with regulatory and market changes
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- 3-5 years of experience in financial markets, derivatives sales, trading support, or client‑facing roles
- Demonstrated success in business development, relationship management, or revenue‑driven client coverage
- Strong understanding of global financial markets and derivative products (e.g. CFDs, FX, multi‑asset trading)
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and confidently to a diverse client base
- Comfortable working to targets in a high‑activity, performance‑oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills with a strong client‑service mindset
- Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline preferred
- Prior experience supporting or executing client trades via electronic platforms is an advantage
- An existing client following or portable relationships would be beneficial but not required
