Rust Software Engineer / Paris
A leading global quantitative and systematic investment manager is seeking a software engineer to join its Infrastructure Team, responsible for the ingestion, processing, and distribution of large-scale datasets. Data sits at the core of the business, supporting research and trading activities across multiple asset classes worldwide.
This role offers the opportunity to work on highly demanding distributed systems and cutting-edge infrastructure challenges, including real-time pub/sub architectures, sharded databases, and large-scale data processing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, review, and implement scalable services and client applications.
- Contribute to and promote engineering best practices, including code reviews, design reviews, testing, and performance optimisation.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and robustness.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Proficiency in Rust is mandatory.
- Experience building high-performance systems involving multithreading, caching strategies, asynchronous I/O, and low-latency processing.
- Understanding of distributed data technologies and the trade-offs involved in systems such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, BigTable, Cassandra etc...
