Senior Non-Agency RMBS Research Analyst
A leading global asset manager is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to join its Residential & Consumer Asset-Backed Research team. This individual will play a key role in generating investment ideas across the non-agency RMBS market, partnering closely with portfolio managers and senior investment professionals to identify relative value opportunities and drive alpha across fixed income portfolios. This opportunity is ideal for experienced residential mortgage investors, research analysts, or portfolio managers with deep expertise in mortgage credit, housing market fundamentals, and structured products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental research across non-agency RMBS, mortgage loan portfolios, originators, issuers, and related housing credit investments
- Analyze collateral performance, credit risk, prepayment dynamics, structural features, and broader housing market trends
- Develop investment recommendations and relative value ideas for portfolio managers across multiple investment mandates
- Build and maintain cash flow models, surveillance tools, and analytical frameworks to assess mortgage credit opportunities
- Engage with management teams, servicers, originators, sponsors, and industry participants to develop differentiated market perspectives
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, traders, and fellow research analysts to support portfolio construction and investment decision-making
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience investing in, analyzing, or researching residential mortgage credit, non-agency RMBS, or related structured products
- Strong understanding of mortgage cash flow modeling, collateral analysis, and residential credit risk
- Experience evaluating housing market fundamentals, mortgage performance, and macroeconomic drivers of residential credit
- Demonstrated ability to generate actionable investment ideas across varying market and interest rate environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present investment views to portfolio managers and senior stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree required; CFA, advanced degree, or equivalent credentials preferred
