Platform Engineer
Our client, an engineering driven crypto technology company based in London, is looking for a platform engineer to own the reliability and performance of production systems, working on low latency, high performance infrastructure where small improvements have outsized impact and engineering quality matters. You'll shape how the team operates its systems, building clean observability, reducing noise, and creating fast, reliable developer workflows. It's a rare opportunity to work close to the metal in a fast moving, high calibre environment, leveraging AI and internal tooling while embedding strong security and engineering practices.
They are looking for a proactive engineer who thrives in ambiguity, taking ownership of problems end to end. The ideal candidate operates with pace and initiative, driving improvements and raising standards without reliance on predefined tasks. Strong cloud infrastructure and operations experience is essential, alongside automation and CI/CD expertise, with a sharp focus on meaningful observability, keeping alerts actionable and aligned with real system behaviour.
Responsibilities:
- Production reliability & operations: Own stable deployments, clear rollback paths, strong system health, and efficient incident response.
- Observability & alerting: Build clear metrics, logs, tracing, and dashboards; reduce alert noise and improve issue visibility.
- Developer experience: Streamline CI/CD, testing, and deployments; automate workflows and improve tooling, configs, and secrets management.
- Infrastructure performance: Optimise low latency systems at host and network level for high performance production environments.
- AI, tooling & security: Use AI and internal tools to scale impact while maintaining strong security across infrastructure and workflows.
Requirements
- High agency & ownership: Able to identify ambiguous problems and drive solutions end to end.
- High drive & pace: Proactive, fast moving, and consistently raising team standards.
- Strong infrastructure fundamentals: Experience with cloud, deployment, and operations.
- Automation & CI/CD expertise: Comfortable building reliable processes with simple tooling and pipelines.
- Operational judgement & mindset: Focus on meaningful observability, actionable alerts, low noise, and accurate system insight.
