Role Overview
We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial and experienced Agri Trader to join our Client. The ideal candidate will have a well-defined niche within the agricultural space (e.g., grains, oilseeds, sugar, coffee, cocoa, pulses, etc.) and a proven track record of running a profitable physical trading book. This role is suited for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to scale their business within a supportive platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage and grow a physical trading book in your chosen agri niche.
- Originate, structure, and execute physical trades across global markets.
- Maintain and expand relationships with producers, processors, end-users, and logistics providers.
- Monitor market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical developments to identify trading opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with internal risk management, regulatory, and operational policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, finance, legal) to ensure smooth execution and settlement of trades.
- Contribute to strategic discussions around market expansion, product diversification, and risk management.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in physical agri commodities trading.
- Demonstrated ability to run a profitable book independently.
- Deep market knowledge and network within a specific agri niche.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and drive business growth.
- Familiarity with trade finance, shipping/logistics, and contract execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach.
