Key Responsibilities
Engagement Leadership
- Lead fast-paced, high-impact engagements with tight timelines and evolving priorities
- Partner closely with client management to assess financial and operational conditions, develop short-term liquidity plans, and execute long-term strategic initiatives
- Own overall engagement delivery, including scope, execution, timelines, and final work product
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while ensuring quality, accuracy, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for clients, lenders, investors, and other key stakeholders
Strategy & Advisory
- Provide senior-level guidance on turnaround strategy, restructuring alternatives, and value preservation
- Quickly evaluate complex situations and deliver actionable recommendations to partners and clients
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive teams, with the ability to expand engagement scope and identify new opportunities
- Collaborate with Partners, Directors, and Associates to design and implement solutions to complex financial and operational challenges
Team Leadership & Firm Contribution
- Lead, mentor, and develop Directors and Associates across multiple engagements
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture
- Train and coach staff through on-the-job guidance, formal training sessions, and peer mentoring
- Participate in firm initiatives related to marketing, recruiting, training, or internal committees
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Serve as Chief Restructuring Advisor or interim executive (CRO, CFO, or similar roles)
- Provide crisis leadership and senior-level stakeholder management
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of:
- Three-statement financial models and assumptions
- 13-week cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Capital structures, debt agreements, and covenant analysis
- Oversee development of:
- Detailed financial projections and cash flow forecasts
- Profitability analysis by customer, SKU, product line, or segment
- Executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and board-level presentations
- Business plans, refinancing materials, liquidation analyses, and alternative scenarios
- Guide preparation of lender, investor, and sell-side materials and support related marketing processes
- Support negotiations with customers, vendors, lenders, and service providers as needed
Business Development & Marketing
- Actively cultivate relationships with referral sources and industry contacts
- Represent the firm at marketing, networking, and industry events
- Identify opportunities to extend existing engagements and originate new business
- Leverage prior client and professional relationships to support firm growth
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a highly regarded institution
- Advanced degree or certification (MBA, CPA, CTP, CFA) strongly preferred
- 15+ years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in restructuring or turnaround consulting
- Proven track record leading multiple complex restructuring or performance improvement engagements
- Experience managing and developing professional staff across engagements
- Strong written, analytical, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels
Additional Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, liquidity forecasting, and custom financial analysis
- Ability to synthesize incomplete or imperfect data into actionable insights
- Comfort shifting between detailed analysis and executive-level strategic thinking
- High energy and adaptability in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (approximately 30%, variable by engagement)
- Commitment to firm culture, collaboration, and professional development initiatives
Expected Compensation:
Base: $200k - $300k
Bonus: Discretionary (~25-75%)+ potentially impacted by revenue-generation
