Managing Director of Capital Formation
We are partnered with a leading alternative asset manager based in South Florida seeking to add a Managing Director of Capital Formation on a permanent basis. This individual will lead all fundraising and investor relations efforts across the firm's investment strategies. The role involves developing and executing capital raising initiatives, building and maintaining relationships with institutional investors, and serving as a key representative of the firm in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Lead capital formation efforts across multiple fund vehicles and strategies
- Develop and manage fundraising campaigns, investor pipelines, and closing processes
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials, pitch decks, and due diligence documentation
Investor Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for current and prospective investors
- Maintain strong relationships with institutional LPs, family offices, consultants, and wealth platforms
- Coordinate investor communications, reporting, and updates
Market Positioning
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and investor meetings
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and positioning
- Provide feedback to leadership on investor sentiment and market trends
Strategic Leadership
- Align capital formation strategy with broader firm goals
- Contribute to fund structuring and product development based on investor demand
- Mentor and manage junior team members involved in fundraising and IR
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in capital formation, fundraising, or investor relations within private markets
- Proven track record of raising capital from institutional investors
- Deep understanding of fund structures, private market dynamics, and LP expectations
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA preferred
- Existing network of investor relationships is highly desirable
