L/S Equity Industrials Analyst
Selby Jennings has partnered with an Asia-based multi-billion USD single CIO hedge fund in seeking an experienced Industrials Equity Analyst to its investment team in Hong Kong or Shenzhen. This opportunity is suited to candidates with a genuine passion for investing, with a deep understanding of the Industrials space, spanning both upstream and downstream segments of the value chain.
The team is seeking an investor with a demonstrated ability to independently generate, assess, and monitor long and short investment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental equity research on Industrials stocks across the value chain
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and differentiated investment theses
- Identify and evaluate long and short investment opportunities across the sector
- Monitor industry developments, supply chain dynamics, competitive positioning, and company-specific catalysts
- Generate actionable investment ideas and present recommendations to the investment team
- Participate in company meetings, industry conferences, expert calls, and channel checks
- Work closely with investment professionals across sectors and regions on research and portfolio-related initiatives
Requirements:
- 7+ years of public markets buyside investment experience
- Relevant experience covering Industrials companies, including both upstream and downstream sub-sectors
- Expertise on Greater China required, with additional markets exposure considered an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to independently research, evaluate, and monitor long/short investments
- Strong fundamental research, financial modelling, and analytical capabilities
- Ability to apply a structured research framework while remaining adaptable to changing market conditions
- Broad industry knowledge and willingness to conduct cross-regional and cross-sector research
- Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills required
