L/S Equity Analyst - Financials
Our client, a leading hedge fund, is seeking a Long/Short Equity Analyst with a focus on Financials. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a senior team, contributing to idea generation, research, and portfolio construction in a dynamic and performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct deep fundamental research on companies within the financials sector, with particular focus on banks and insurers.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models, assessing earnings drivers, valuation metrics, and risk factors.
- Generate long and short investment ideas based on rigorous analysis and present actionable recommendations to the PM.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting financial institutions.
- Collaborate with the investment team to refine portfolio positioning and risk management strategies.
Requirements:
- Strong background in financials equity research, with a preference for Long/Short investing experience. We are also open to candidates coming from a sell side background with experience across financials coverage.
- Proven ability to identify and articulate alpha-generating ideas in a long/short context.
- Advanced financial modelling skills and deep understanding of valuation methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
