Linux Systems Engineer
Passionate about Linux performance tuning and ultra-low-latency infrastructure?
I'm partnering with a leading trading firm seeking an Linux performance Engineer to optimize a highly tuned bare-metal Linux environment where performance is measured in microseconds and infrastructure is a genuine competitive advantage.
You'll be responsible for:
- Linux kernel tuning, CPU isolation, NUMA optimization, and low-latency systems engineering
- DPDK, OpenOnload, ef_vi and kernel-bypass networking
- PTP (IEEE 1588) and nanosecond-accurate time synchronization
- Performance profiling using eBPF, perf, ftrace, flamegraphs and related tooling
- Infrastructure automation, CI/CD and observability focused on latency and jitter
- Working directly with traders and developers to maximize system performance
What we're looking for:
- Strong Linux infrastructure, SRE, platform or performance engineering background
- Deep understanding of kernel internals and system optimization
- Experience with low-latency networking technologies
- Python, Bash and automation expertise
- Trading, HFT, market-making or other latency-sensitive environments highly preferred
