(Junior) Market Risk Analyst - LNG
For one of our clients, we are looking for a Market Risk Analyst.
This role involves contributing to the risk management function within a dynamic commodity trading
environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing regular risk reports, conducting
quantitative analysis, and supporting automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly market risk reports, including Value at Risk (VaR),
- options analysis, and stress testing.
- Perform quantitative assessments of portfolio risk across various commodities and financial
- products.
- Deliver ad-hoc analytical support to the risk and middle office teams.
- Assist in digital transformation efforts to enhance data flow and reduce manual processes.
- Participate in system development and testing within the risk function.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and automation.
- Support the development and validation of market risk models.
- Collaborate effectively within a global, hybrid team environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Engineering).
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Background in energy risk management, ideally within trading or investment banking.
- Solid understanding of derivatives, especially options.
- Familiarity with energy risk metrics and models.
- Knowledge of energy markets, particularly gas and LNG.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, VBA, Power BI, PowerPoint, and SQL.
- Experience with Python is advantageous.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Allegro, FEA, or Topez is a plus.
