Position Summary

A leading investment bank is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its growing Industrials team in Chicago. The Associate will play an integral role in executing M&A, strategic advisory, and financing transactions while working closely with senior bankers and client management teams.

The position offers the opportunity to work in lean deal teams, providing significant responsibility throughout the transaction process and direct exposure to senior bankers and executives. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling and valuation skills, proven transaction experience, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day project management and execution across M&A, advisory, and financing transactions
• Develop and oversee complex financial models, valuation analyses, and corporate finance scenarios
• Evaluate potential M&A and financing opportunities through company, industry, and market analysis
• Perform valuation analysis using methodologies including DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions
• Conduct financial, operational, and commercial due diligence
• Prepare transaction and marketing materials, including pitch books, teasers, information memoranda, and management presentations
• Analyze company financial statements, projections, business plans, and industry trends
• Help lead deal pitches, including idea generation and strategic analysis
• Work closely with senior bankers to provide strategic and financial advice to clients
• Develop relationships with clients through ongoing engagement and strong industry knowledge
• Mentor and oversee junior team members throughout transaction execution

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of investment banking experience, or relevant MBA experience
• Strong experience in financial modeling and valuation
• Prior M&A and sell-side advisory experience preferred
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
• High level of maturity and ability to interact with senior executives and clients
• SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 licenses required or ability to obtain following employment
