About the Role
A leading global investment bank with a strong presence across Europe is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join its Industrials & Services M&A team in Frankfurt. The team advises corporate and financial sponsor clients on a broad range of strategic transactions, including sell-side and buy-side M&A, capital raises, and strategic financial advisory.
This is an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment with significant client exposure, high deal flow, and the ability to take on meaningful responsibility early.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution & Analysis
- Lead day-to-day execution of M&A transactions across the Industrials & Services sectors.
- Perform detailed financial modelling, valuation analyses (DCF, LBO, trading comparables, precedent transactions), and scenario planning.
- Oversee preparation of client materials, including pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations, and strategic analyses.
- Coordinate due diligence processes with clients, legal advisors, accountants, and other stakeholders.
Client Engagement & Relationship-Building
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients during live transactions and pitches.
- Support senior bankers in preparing and delivering strategic advice to corporate executives and private equity investors.
- Build strong internal and external networks within the Industrials & Services ecosystem.
Industry & Market Insights
- Monitor sector trends, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic developments affecting Industrials & Services.
- Conduct company-specific research and maintain sector materials for business development purposes.
- Contribute to origination efforts by identifying M&A opportunities and supporting idea generation.
Leadership & Team Development
- Guide and mentor Analysts on modelling, presentation preparation, and process management.
- Take ownership of workstreams and collaborate across international offices to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, or a closely related field.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities, with a deep understanding of M&A processes.
- Demonstrated experience working on live transactions, ideally within Industrials, Business Services, or broader leveraged/corporate finance contexts.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and senior stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in German strongly preferred.
