Investment Banking Analyst | Consumer
Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading Boutique focused on middle market and large cap Consumer M&A. They focus on advising founder and/or family-led businesses on mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic growth. Transactions range from $50MM to $1Bn+. This team has seen tremendous success and is looking to bring (1) Analyst to join their growing team in Salt Lake City.
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of experience in either investment banking, private equity, or Big 4 (or similar) Audit, Valuations, or Financial Due Diligence roles. Additionally, ideal candidates are located in or open to relocation to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support execution of M&A transactions, capital raising, and other capital markets activities within the consumer sector.
- Conduct in-depth industry research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Build and maintain complex financial models including valuation, merger consequences, and leveraged buyout analyses.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and marketing materials.
- Collaborate with senior bankers and clients to develop strategic insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance, Big 4 or similar Audit, Valuations, or Financial Due Diligence roles, with a focus on the consumer industry preferred.
- Strong academic background with a degree in finance, accounting or a related field; MBA or CPA a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
