Head of Credit Sales

Our client, a European bank, is seeking an accomplished and strategic professional to lead its UK Credit Sales team. This senior role is pivotal in driving client engagement, managing a high-performing team, and expanding the firm's presence across both flow and non-flow credit products. The ideal candidate will bring deep institutional client relationships, strong market expertise, and proven leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop the UK Credit Sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and commercial excellence.
  • Define and execute the UK credit sales strategy in alignment with broader business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with trading, structuring, and syndicate teams to deliver integrated solutions to clients.

Client Coverage

  • Maintain and grow relationships with key UK institutional clients, including asset managers, pension funds, hedge funds, and insurers.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for strategic client discussions, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service.
  • Identify new business opportunities and drive cross-selling across the firm's product suite.

Product Expertise

  • Oversee sales across a wide range of credit products, including investment grade, high yield, structured credit, and emerging markets.
  • Ensure the team is equipped to deliver both standard and bespoke solutions tailored to client needs.

Team Management

  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development support to team members.
  • Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular reviews to ensure delivery against targets.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive team culture.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in credit sales within a top-tier financial institution.
  • Strong and active relationships with UK institutional investors.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of credit markets, products, and regulatory frameworks.
