Overview:
A global multi-strategy hedge fund platform is seeking to hire a Global Industrials Analyst to support a senior Portfolio Manager. The role will focus on fundamental equity research across heavy machinery, factory automation, and advanced manufacturing companies globally, with particular emphasis on beneficiaries of the AI infrastructure buildout. Coverage will span Asia (including Japan), Europe, and the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop fundamental research coverage across heavy machinery, factory automation, and advanced manufacturing sectors
- Generate actionable long and short investment ideas across Asia (including Japan), Europe, and the United States
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, earnings forecasts, and valuation frameworks
- Conduct management meetings, channel checks, and supply chain research to identify differentiated insights
- Monitor industry developments linked to AI infrastructure, automation, and capital expenditure cycles
- Support portfolio construction through rigorous company and industry analysis
- Present investment recommendations and thematic research directly to the Portfolio Manager
Requirements:
- 3-8 years of equity research or investing experience
- Coverage experience within industrials, heavy machinery, capital goods, factory automation, or advanced manufacturing sectors across Asia (including Japan), Europe, and/or the United States
- Buy-side experience preferred, though top-tier sell-side equity research candidates will be considered
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation capabilities
- Fluent English required; proficiency in an additional Asian language (Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, or similar) preferred
