GenAI Engineer
A multi‑billion‑dollar hedge fund is making its first strategic investment in Generative AI and we're hiring the person who will build it from scratch.
This role sits at the center of the business. You'll partner directly with Legal, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, and firm leadership to reinvent how key functions work, automate high-friction processes, and deploy AI tools that materially improve speed, accuracy, and decision-making.
This is a greenfield build with real ownership, immediate visibility, and a direct reporting line to the CTO.
What You'll Lead
- Design and deploy AI solutions for business-critical teams:
- Legal & compliance workflows
- Marketing content and approvals
- Operational processes and internal knowledge systems
- Build internal LLM applications, copilots, workflow automations, and retrieval systems tailored to non-technical users.
- Translate business problems into clear, scalable AI products that improve productivity and precision.
- Work cross-functionally to understand needs, scope use cases, and deliver deployable solutions quickly.
- Stay on top of the GenAI ecosystem - model releases, evaluation tools, RAG frameworks - and selectively integrate the best technologies.
- Build foundational AI infrastructure and practices for the firm's long-term automation strategy.
What You Bring
- 3+ year of strong track record building and shipping GenAI/LLM applications.
- Ability to work deeply with business teams, not just engineering - you listen, translate, and build solutions that stick.
- Excellent product instincts and the ability to deliver MVPs fast.
- Python proficiency with hands-on experience across LLM frameworks, APIs, vector DBs, and orchestration tools.
- Clear communication skills - able to explain AI to attorneys, marketers, and ops leaders.
Bonus: experience with regulated environments, cloud (Azure), NLP/predictive analytics, RPA tooling, or financial-services workflows.
