FX Derivatives Trader

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Market-Making

  • Price and execute FX derivatives including vanilla/exotic options, structured forwards, and volatility-based products.
  • Provide two-way pricing and liquidity to internal sales teams and external clients across APAC.
  • Manage trading books, hedge exposures, and optimise risk-reward outcomes.
  • Track macroeconomic developments, market flows, and volatility dynamics affecting FX markets.

Risk Management

  • Manage Greeks and overall portfolio exposures within approved risk limits.
  • Perform scenario analysis and stress testing to ensure robust risk management.
  • Work closely with market risk and compliance teams to maintain effective controls.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with FX sales teams to deliver competitive pricing, market insights, and bespoke solutions.
  • Support structuring teams on new product design and enhancements.
  • Provide timely market commentary, trade recommendations, and liquidity updates.

Analysis & Strategy Development

  • Build and refine trading strategies using quantitative models and market analytics.
  • Analyse volatility surfaces, cross-asset correlations, and macro drivers.
  • Continuously monitor P&L, risk metrics, and model performance.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with quant and technology teams to improve pricing models, risk tools, and workflow automation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize desk efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Master's degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FX options or FX derivatives trading.
  • Strong understanding of derivatives pricing, volatility models, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Python, VBA, or similar programming languages.
  • Strong decision-making skills under pressure in a dynamic market environment.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with structured FX products (e.g., accumulators, decumulators, TARFs, callable structures).
  • Knowledge of APAC FX markets, CNH/RMB products, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with trading and risk platforms such as Murex, Calypso, or equivalent proprietary systems.
