Fundamental Equities Analyst (APAC - Korea/Japan Focus)

Location: Hong Kong/ Sydney

Overview:

A global proprietary trading and market-making platform is seeking a Fundamental Equities Analyst to cover APAC markets, with a primary focus on Korea and Japan. The role sits alongside a fast-paced derivatives trading team, applying a probabilistic, expected value-driven investment approach. This position offers direct exposure to equities and options strategies within a highly collaborative trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and analyze investment opportunities across equities and listed options markets
Evaluate catalyst-driven events and assess their impact on stock and sector performance
Deliver real-time insights and opinions on breaking news and market developments
Conduct fundamental valuation analysis, including earnings forecasts and dividend projections

Requirements:

3+ years of relevant experience in equity, macro, or investment research
Strong coverage experience in APAC equities, ideally Korea and/or Japan large caps
Background in buyside or sell-side research environments
Familiarity with programming tools such as Python, R, or SQL is advantageous
Fluency in English and Korean or Japanese is required
