Overview:
We are seeking an experienced ERCOT Trader to join a dynamic trading team in Houston. This role involves managing real-time and day-ahead positions, optimizing portfolio performance, and executing strategies in the ERCOT market. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep market knowledge, and a proven track record in power trading.
Responsibilities:
- Execute real-time and day-ahead trades within ERCOT to maximize profitability.
- Monitor market conditions, price trends, and system constraints to identify trading opportunities.
- Manage risk exposure and ensure compliance with internal risk limits and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with analytics and operations teams to develop and refine trading strategies.
- Maintain accurate trade records and provide timely reporting to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in ERCOT power trading
- Strong understanding of ERCOT market rules, congestion management, and nodal pricing.
- Proficiency in analytical tools and trading platforms; Python or SQL.
- Excellent decision-making skills under pressure and strong communication abilities.
