Overview
We are seeking an entry‑level Actuarial Analyst to support a growing health actuarial team. This role is ideal for a recent or upcoming graduate who has begun the SOA exam process and is looking to build a long‑term career in health actuarial work.
The analyst will assist with data analysis, actuarial modeling, and reporting related to healthcare costs, pricing, and performance, while continuing actuarial exam progress in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze healthcare and claims data to support pricing, forecasting, and trend analysis
- Assist with rate development, reserving, and financial projections
- Prepare reports and summaries for internal stakeholders
- Support actuarial models related to medical costs, utilization, and risk
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and analytics teams as needed
- Document methodologies and maintain data accuracy
- Continue progress through SOA actuarial exams
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field (recently graduated or graduating soon)
- At least 1 SOA exam passed (e.g., Exam P or FM)
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, R, Python, or similar tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
- Internship or academic projects related to actuarial work, healthcare, or analytics
- Familiarity with health insurance concepts (medical claims, premiums, trend, risk adjustment)
