Role Overview

A leading international financial institution is seeking an Associate Vice President to join its Emerging Markets Sales team in London. The role will focus on cross‑product EM sales, with a primary emphasis on Rates and FX, covering both hard‑currency and local‑currency markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and transacting with clients active in local emerging markets, with particular regional focus on Turkey and Central or Eastern Europe (CEE). This role requires strong market knowledge, client engagement skills, and the ability to operate across multiple products in complex EM environments.


Key Responsibilities

Client Coverage & Origination

  • Cover institutional clients active in Emerging Markets, including banks, asset managers, hedge funds, insurers, and other financial institutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on local‑markets exposure in Turkey and CEE.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing market insights, trade ideas, and execution support across EM Rates and FX.

Product Coverage

  • Originate and execute transactions across EM Rates and FX, including local‑currency products, derivatives, and hedging solutions.
  • Support cross‑product solutions where relevant, coordinating with Credit, Financing, and other asset‑class specialists.
  • Work closely with trading desks to ensure accurate pricing, efficient execution, and effective risk management.

Execution & Internal Coordination

  • Manage the full trade lifecycle from idea generation through execution and post‑trade follow‑up.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across trading, structuring, risk, legal, and operations to deliver seamless client outcomes.
  • Ensure all activity is conducted in line with internal governance, regulatory standards, and suitability requirements.

Market Insight & Development

  • Monitor macroeconomic, political, and market developments impacting EM Rates and FX, particularly in Turkey and CEE.
  • Proactively identify opportunities arising from volatility, policy shifts, and market dislocations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the EM franchise through idea generation and client engagement.

Skills & Experience

Professional Experience

  • Typically 4-7 years of experience in Emerging Markets Sales, Rates/FX Sales, or a closely related markets role.
  • Strong focus on EM Rates and FX, with experience in local‑currency markets highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Turkey and/or Central & Eastern European markets is a strong advantage.

Technical & Commercial Skills

  • Solid understanding of EM macro dynamics, rates curves, FX markets, and derivatives.
  • Ability to translate complex market developments into clear, actionable client advice.
  • Strong commercial judgement and client‑centric mindset.

Personal Attributes

  • Confident, proactive communicator with strong relationship‑management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑moving and volatile EM market environments.
  • Highly organised, collaborative, and detail‑oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
