eFX Trader - Associate Director
Our client, a leading international bank is seeking an Associate Director, eFX Trader to join its electronic trading team. This is an opportunity to work within a high-performing FX business, contributing to the development and growth of a market-leading electronic trading platform servicing institutional clients globally.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electronic FX risk, enhancing pricing and execution performance, and supporting the continued evolution of the bank's eFX offering. Working closely with Quantitative Analytics, Technology, Sales, and Trading teams, the role requires a strong combination of market expertise, risk management capability, and data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage risk across electronic FX trading activities, including spot and forwards products.
- Monitor and optimise pricing quality, execution performance, and client experience across electronic channels.
- Analyse trading data to identify opportunities to improve profitability, market share, and liquidity provision.
- Partner with technology and quantitative teams to develop and enhance pricing models, trading tools, and execution algorithms.
- Work closely with Sales teams to support strategic client relationships and electronic trading initiatives.
- Monitor market developments, macroeconomic events, and liquidity conditions affecting FX markets.
- Contribute to the growth of the electronic trading platform through innovation and process improvement.
- Ensure all trading activities are conducted within established risk limits and regulatory frameworks.
- Support junior traders and contribute to the wider development of the trading franchise.
Requirements
- Experience within an eFX Trading, FX Trading, or Electronic Market Making environment at a bank or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of FX market structure, electronic liquidity provision, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and performance within an electronic trading framework.
- Solid quantitative and analytical capabilities.
- Experience analysing large datasets and trading performance metrics.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Trading, Sales, Quantitative Analytics, and Technology teams.
- Proficiency with trading systems and market analytics tools.
Preferred Experience
- Strong understanding of algorithmic and systematic trading concepts.
- Experience with data analysis and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Java.
- Knowledge of low-latency trading environments and electronic execution workflows.
- Familiarity with client pricing engines and market-making infrastructure.
