Position Overview
Seeking a high-performing Director or Managing Director of Originations to join the San Francisco office. This individual will play a critical role in sourcing, structuring, and closing venture debt transactions with early- to growth-stage technology companies. The ideal candidate is a well-connected originator with a proven track record in venture debt, deep relationships with top-tier VCs, and a strong presence in the Bay Area tech ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Sourcing: Proactively originate venture debt opportunities through a robust network of VC firms, founders, CFOs, and startup advisors.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the venture capital and startup community.
- Deal Execution: Lead the structuring, negotiation, and closing of venture debt transactions in collaboration with internal credit, legal, and operations teams.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform origination strategy.
- Brand Building: Represent the firm at industry events, panels, and conferences to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in venture debt, venture capital, or growth-stage lending with a strong focus on origination.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in sourcing and closing venture debt deals, particularly in the technology sector.
- Network: Deep, active relationships with top-tier VC firms and startup executives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco area.
- Skills: Strong financial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
